Passion Fruit

Passion fruit is a tropical fruit about the size of an egg with a brittle outer shell that contains crunchy seeds surrounded by intensely flavored, slightly sour, yellow, juicy pulp. Its inedible shell can be purple or yellow in color.

The pulp of the passion fruit has a wonderfully tropical flavor and is mainly used in juices and desserts. It is also delicious stirred through yoghurt or eaten straight from the skin.

Passion fruit is rich source of antioxidants, minerals, vitamins (A and C), and fiber. Passion fruit is an intriguing and mysterious fruit that has a surprising number of health and medicinal benefits for those fruit lovers who add it to their diet.

WELL-KNOWN FOR
Round, ovoid, and oval shape.
Proportion of juice (30 - 35%)

Unique flavor: appealing, musky, and very refreshingly tart
Texture: yellowish-orange colored juice and jelly-like pulp with numerous edible, crunchy, and black seeds (yellow pulp with black, edible seeds)

APPEARANCE
Either red violet or dark purple rind in maturity (variety in the hues of dark purple and red violet rind at maturity).
Leathery, taut, shiny and thick skin with faint white specks and smooth waxy surface.
Orange-colored, pulpy juice with many small, firm, and black seeds.
